I've just received this years Christmas toy for the workshop. I got it from Axminster Power Tools and it's called a "Bevel Box". It's a small battery operated digital angle measuring device.
It is used by placing it onto a reference surface, in my case on the horizontal slideway on a wall mounted glass and board cutter then pressing the zero button to calibrate the internal zero reference and then transfering the box to the vertical slide way to check the accuracy of the 90 degrees alignment between the two.
Resolution and accuracy are quoted as 0.1 degrees. Including p & p and VAT the cost came to almost £31. It's probably available from other suppliers too!
Since I'm moving my Keencut System 400 into the back room after Christmas, it will be made good use of very soon. My Ultimat will be checked using it too! I'm having a major calibration session in January!
