A lot of thought and dedication. Well done, Mal.

I have suggested to FATG that 'educational' videos by FATG members could be linked through their website. A lot of work goes into making these and it is a pity that often they don't get enough exposure and/or recognition.

The video was already a education to those wanting to learn the techniques, but it was also interesting to hear an explaination about the meaning of the graphic shapes. I thought that it was a thoughly professional presentation. Nice work!

Many Thanks for your comments. I have had an interest in Arabic/Islamic geometry for some time along with mount decoration and have several more videos planned covering essentially Arabic/Asiam artwork. However, the next video, which should be complete in the next couple of weeks covers a presentation I made for Rinaldin at last year's FAMA on 'Border Proportions'. It addresses the question of optical/geometric centres and how to position artwork in a mount along with the use of the 'Golden Ratio' and finally, addresses the ratio between frame size and mount/image size practiced by among others the British Museum.

If you are interested in this and future videos then if you subscribe to my youtube account you will receive automatic notification when I post a video.
