Hi All,
Just got myself a new Bambi BB24D after my last compressor packed in after 16 years. Bought a new fitting to connect the hose to my Casesse 299 and have not been able to get it not to leak...... the continual hissing is really getting on my nerves, and I've had it off and on several times, and even bought a new wrench to try and get in fully screwed in. Any suggestions? Or am I just lacking the brute force needed to tighten it fully. As you'll see in the attached photo, there is still a bit of thread on the brass fitting showing.

You need a roll of plumber's PTFE tape.

Wrap it several times 'round the threads on the brass nozzel and then screw it home again. Then also around the stem of the nozzel before refitting the hose.

It depends where it's leaking and a small amount of soapy water should help you identify this - Just check the jubilee clip isn't at the end of it's thread.

Thanks.... the leak is coming from the brass thread/compressor connection.

Yep, that connection requires Teflon tape (PTFE). Make sure the tape wrapping is in the same directions as the threads.

A roll should only cost around 50p or less! Pick one up meantime at your local hardware or B&Q.

Yes b & q or if you have a screwfix or toolstation or any like that closer, they will have some. Think screwfix was £0.40 last time i got some.

I live in the sticks..... 40 miles from nearest city! I will see if my local hardware store has meantime, no doubt at a premium, but I've lost so much time faffing that I don't really care anymore, as long as I can shut the damned machine up, and get on with some work!!
