Just done this Greek touristy canvas and I thought it was ideal for a finish I have been itching to try.
It's a sort-of rough plastered wall effect.

Came out better than I thought.

Peter, it looks amazing
I have never seen the like and I would love it on my wall.
Has the customer seen it yet
and;
how did you achieve it please.

I've framed a very similar picture, if not the same. Mine was not a hand finished frame, but probably framed in something that I got in a bargain bundle. I like the palette knife paint effects on the outer moulding. I would say that it's just right for the subject!
Not only that, but I think that style of finish would be something worth having a sample of to show other customers. Is that done with Ripple coat?

Where's the like button?
Love the stacked frames especially the off white inner and finish on the outside balanced by the slightly darker more detailed middle frame. Very skillfully done.

The design it quite 'retro' - with a twist. Wide flat bit with a narrower raised inner. Very popular way back when.
The rough plastered effect is done with ripple paint, slightly bulked up with some yellow powder paint. Just spread it on with
a palette knife and let dry. I sanded of any uneven lumps and painted it with a buff colour acrylic. When that's dry a light wash'n'wipe
with raw umber brings out the texture slightly. The finished surface is waxed.
