Yes Richard. The issue was trying to buy relatively small quantities. They just couldn't be bothered.
I was able to buy a few castings from Peter Binnings and that was an experience in itself. We fell out when he twigged that I was casting copies from the moulings he was supplying. And then he died. McCarthy Frames and Mirrors bought all his boxwood moulds and I leave that to others to see if they would sell any castings.
For anyone wanting to buy castings, the best way is to make them yourself - learn up on casting techniques. Trouble is you need a sample frame for the original. Best buy one from Richard Framemaker ...
