I've just got a Inmes IM30 mitre saw and am wondering how long I might expect blades to last and if they can be sharpened. Can anyone with a saw comment? I cut 90% obeche.

If you were a production-framer, you'd be having your blades sharpened monthly. For bespoke work, you could get away with six, or even 12 months between sharpenings. It does mean you need a spare set of blades and I'm assuming the set you have are the normal TCT tipped.
I find that if you take the time to do a final shaving cut, as with a Morso, you get a much better mitre.

I replaced my blades at the end of 2017 after four years. The old ones were not exactly blunt but I thought it was about time.

I don't cut an enormous amount of frames. Maybe 2-300 per year.

Blades aren't that expensive so whether it's worth having then sharpened is a moot point.

I use a twin blade brevetti and have the blades sharpened every 3 months (probably 1000 frames). New blades are £200 a pair, sharpening costs £40.

I have a single blade mitre saw (an OMGA, similar to the Imnes), I change the blade every 8-12 months or so.

Given that I'm not entirely sure how much work my saw has done I'm going to get a new blade and take it from there. At the least I'll have a spare. Thanks for the input folks.
