Hello,

On reading various threads on stitching shirts onto backing mount board it appears alot of you find it quick and easy.

I however do not! I find getting the thread through a pre made hole in the back along and under the shirt to the next pre made hole to take it back of extremely fiddly and time consuming as the shirt is quite a tight fit over its inner template of mount card and most holes are not easily accessible.

Am I possibly doing it incorrectly? How do you do it please

I don't like to use tag guns with lycra type shirts (leaves a damage hole, plus can see tag under shirt)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I don't like stitching either and I don't think it's quick either, I use a foamcore former inside the shirt and I tag the shirt to this, mostly around the back, then I stitch through the exposed foamcore at the neck opening, to attach to the backing card, these take most of the weight, then I try to position of the stitching to where there is seams or existing stitching of the shirt

A few months I took apart a framed shorts shirt that was framed by a ' Professional Company' lots of tapestry was used to fix the shirt to the former, but the interesting thing was they used a double mount at the back, on the back / under mount they had attached the shirt by using 'T Pins' that Lion sell, they passed these through parts of the shirt around the back of the former and pushed these trough the backing mount and then bent the pin and taped down with masking tape. Then they just double sided the top mount on to the backing mount to square things up. could be worth a try, well without the tapestry tape

Don't lay it on me, the pins bit is not my technique, that's how the other company did it, but I don't see a problem with it, let us know how you get on with it

I use a combination of tagging gun, stitching and T pins, choosing the method that best suits that area of the shirt that needs fixing.

When I tag I now use long fine tags taped at the back. When stitching a thimble is a must and when pinning I use stainless steel T pins.
