Concert Tickets

Apologies for such a basic question but my wife and I are new, hobby framers from our garage.

Someone has asked for some concert tickets framed but we were unsure of the best method I.e. ways of sticking/mounting the tickets to the mat board.

Thanks in advance.

Graham.

Hi Graham. :D

Do a Forum search for "Mylar Encapsulation".

Best avoid the use of any adhesives for the tickets and consider a totally reversible method.

If you can cover the edges of the tickets (about 5mm all round) then you could use a platform mount. See this topic on how to make a platform mount and the attached diagram.

If you need to show the entire ticket then you will need to use melinex/mylar (clear polyester film) in some way. Have a read of the attached pdf for some ideas.

A very simple and cheap method would be to use photo corners. It does depend on how well the tickets can support their own weight i.e. what thickness of paper the tickets are printed on? These corners are a good choice from Lion.

Welcome to the FF Graham :D

If you decide to use photo corners and would like a few to try pm me with you address and I will send you some as I have plenty obtained from PEL.

I use them to support sets of cigarette cards mounted and framed.

Peter.
