Hello, basic beginners question :

I have some moulding with a rebate height of 20mm, my glass, mountboard, backing board etc is about 10mm, so theres a 10mm gap and the backing board isn't flush with the frame for the sealing gum tape. What can I use to fill the gap to get a flush finish on the back.

thanks.

Hi, I don't bother to make the back of the frame and back board flush but I can appreciate it can look neater to some eyes. Dead flush is not a good idea anyway, as you need a few mm spare to fire in your framer's points! Use a sharp knife to cut the corners of the tape and then fold down, see photo. If you do want to make it flush then pack up your frame with foamboard before putting in your back board.

It also desirable to have a space between wall and backboard to allow air circulation. :D
