I thought that most people know about the self ignition probem with linseed oil on rags, etc. It's not a difficult problem to solve. The old timers used to put their old rags with linseed oil on the inside an air tight tin, but an even better idea is to use a piece of kitchen tissue to apply the linseed oil and to flush the small bit of tissue down the loo when you've finished using it. To problem occurs as the linseed oil is drying out on rags.

I agree Mark, that info is pretty well known. But (in best Bob Geldof voice) if this thread saves just one life......
