Damaged prints in tubes
I have a customer who sells a lot of large paper prints. She wraps them in light paper, then puts bubble wrap on either end of tube. Some prints arrive damaged on sides. What is best practice to ensure prints arrive safely?

Re: Damaged prints in tubes
Is she using lightweight or heavy duty tubes? As a general comment, the longer the tube, the thicker the wall has to be to protect the contents.

She is using heavy duty tubes. They’re getting damaged inside the tube, not from outside.

Re: Damaged prints in tubes
It could be the prints paper, if it's too thin, then it will get damaged on the edge if dropped on the end of the tube

Re: Damaged prints in tubes
I would suggest wrapping them in heavier paper and going maybe a inch or more past the ends of the print. Fold in the ends of
the wrapping paper so they absorb any impacts. Almost make a tube withing the tube.

Another option
wrap the prints internal package( lightly paper wrapped) and overwrap this with a layer of chipboard paper or single sided corrugated board.

Re: Damaged prints in tubes
We wrap all our fine art prints in a layer of acid free tissue paper and roll them lightly so they unravel in the tube slightly and stick to the tube wall. We also use tubes which are the correct size for the print so they can't move around (end to end)
