I am currently receiving medical treatment for an ulcer on my leg. It started as a graze, but as fast as it started to heal, it would get an unwelcome bash while working in the workshop. My local health centre have given me all the right things, but I still keep bashing it.
So.... tomorrow I shall start the day by making some Corri Cor shin pads. Who knows perhaps others have similar problems around the workshop.
Some time ago I added some foam plastic pipe lagging (insulation) to the pedal on my underpinner, to save painful bashes on my shins. Another tip!
Not quite you usual tip - Corri Cor shin pads.

I like it!
I too have been known to improvise. As a printer in my day job, I have access to lots of scrap materials. When really desperate (cash, comfort, boredom) I have made insoles for my shoes from self adhesive foam. The sort of stuff that it used as a high performance adhesive spacer or for the backs of mouse mats, etc.
I do this until my wife takes pity on me and allows me to buy some new shoes!
