My left hand Morso extension droops a little bit. It's been like that for years and I've learnt to put a little mount board under the moulding to lift the left hand end a little bit when it's a problem. I would like to correct this somehow. Has anyone else encountered the same problem and what were you able to do about it?

I cut a piece of moulding and put it from the floor to under the left hand arm,

I'm wondering if I can place shims under the end with the fixing bolt and pull it straight that way. I'm thinking about making the shims using pieces of a Cornflake box, or something similar.

It's a very old building and I'm not very sure of how stable the floor might be. My previous premises were onl a few doors up the road and the floor changed shape according to the seasons. My current premises are even older than my first premises and are known to have been standing in the reign of Queen Elizabeth the first. This is a very old town!

I would go with the shims if it was me (that's the engineer in me)

That's kind of what I was thinking. Thin card is not necessarily the best shim material, but it's easy to get and that's counts for a lot these days, it's also not the most stable shim material, because it will compress over time. However, I guessing that it won't be too bad and will probably do quite nicely for a really long time.

What about the plastic shims that carpenters and window installers use? They come in various thicknesses and in bag fulls. Im sure a trade would be happy to give you a couple to try.

Aluminium. Beer cans, cheap and expensive - tend to be slightly different thicknesses. Airline drinks cans, thicker still (do airlines still have drinks...?)
