OMG. :o I think there has been an earthquake here. The whole house shook for a few seconds. The monitor was leaping up and down on the desk.

Anyone else feel it??

It's on the tv news so I wasn't dreaming.

I'm about 8 miles south of the epicentre, 4.9 on the Ricther scale. :o

You heard it first on Prospero News24. :D

A very unnerving experience, when you discover that not even the earth itself can be depended on to stay in place. :?

Hope everything is OK prospero and that you have suffered no structural damage.

Hope everyone's ok. I told you all last Wednesday that bad things happen on Wednesdays!

Just had a look around and amazingly no obvious major damage. Few small bits of plaster off the kitchen wall and next door had a tile off. I was expecting at least a few cracked windows. The way things were shaking I wouldn't have been suprised if there was much more damage. Not even a chrevron fallen off the wall. :)
I was awake at the time. It must have been alarming for those who were asleep.

It made the news over here.

From what they said on the television is was only a 5 point-something – not too bad. We occasionally get slight tremors here in the Northeast, but they tend to be in the 2.5 range – just barely enough to make the dog perk up.

And, you felt it too, Ormand? Liar, liar, pants on fire! :P

Yikes!

My wife woke me just as it started and our wardrobe doors where rattling a lot. It is the third one I've felt in the Midlands in the last 15ish years.

Not bad going I think. Just last year there was a tornado just 20 miles away in Birmingham. Around here we called it a natural improvement.

Didn't know a thing about it until I read Prospero's post!

Saw it early on Sky and sent a text to my daughter in London. She says she felt it there too

Had the TV news van outside all day. They interveiwed a few locals. I was hoping they would come to me (anything for free advert) but they didn't, which was a pity as I was probably the only one in the villiage who was actually awake at the time. :?
