Hi,
Does anyone have an easy way of cleaning Ultraview UV70 as it always seems to have small grease marks straight out of the box. i've found Nilglass doesnt work and isopropyl alcohol isnt brilliant.
i seeem to be selling more and more of this glazing hence its becoming a bigger problem.
all suggestions very gratefully received.
Graham

Teepol make some very seriously powerful detergents, one of them is called Teepol trafic film remover. This is seriously good at removing grease, smudges and contamination from glass. I have used it while during my career working in high tech industries. It's not cheap, but the best never is! It is an industrial grade cleaner and shifts the surface contamination, which most other cleaners won't touch.
Teepol make a huge range of industrial detergents and cleaners, it may be interesting to check out their range of products. Many of their products are some strong that you will need to be aware that they can strip the natural oils from your skin and maybe it will be good to use a moisturising hand cream if you get any on your hands, in order to replace the natural oils that are normally present on your skin.
I'm not joking this stuff nukes oil, grease, smears and just about any contamination, that normal detergents won't touch. It's used for cleaning the optics for inside gun sights, periscope optics and stuff like that. A lot of their products are used in grade 1 clean room assembly areas. If you want the best, this is it!

Graham -
I've been using Opti-Bright from Wessex for quite a few years and never had any issues with it. Use it with a microfibre cloth and you should be fine. They do a small 150ml bottle if you want to give it a go.
Best wishes
Jonathan

I just use a soft cotton cloth and huff on it, as you would with a camera lens or a pair of glasses, I find it quite breath taking

We use Artglass supplied by Centrado. They are delivered in packs of 4 with polythene sheets between each piece. Very rarely is there a mark on the glass - we use a soft microfibres cloth (only used on Artglass) to give it a gentle wipe over to remove anything that may have landed on it after cutting. If there are any other marks on it then it is us that have probably caused them. I can’t remember the last time I found a mark on Artglass straight out of the box.
