What’s on your walls at home?

Is it a case of the cobbler’s children going barefoot?

I had lot of stuff I wanted to frame for myself but never got round to it all, including reframing.

Anyway - no need to show us everything, but feel free to if you like :-)

I’ll start you off with an original Turner!

I painted it on the kitchen table in 1987 from a book by an artist I grew to love afterwards, Rowland Hilder. I once had the chance to buy an original of his and really regret not doing so. They say the Kent landscape evolved to suit his paintings!

My attempt was an exercise in contrast, from Indian ink to virgin paper, and capturing thick thawing snow. The tree was supposed to be an oast house but I didn’t have the confidence to make something look conical.

Zoom in and you’ll see washline corner marks a bit too bold but it’s fine from normal viewing distance.

We have to make the most of what hanging space we have...

I have an oil on canvas (by me) that's been hanging on my wall for the best part of 30 years without a frame on it.
No cord on it either. It's just gamely perched on a picture hook.
