The end of Cassesse

I've just found out via Framers Only that Cassesse has closed down. Apparently the French Government have been keeping them afloat for a while but have had enough. That's a sad end to the company that brought us the underpinner

Time to panic buy V nails - well the cartridge version anyway - or learn how to reload them, that’s been detailed here before and I used to think “cheap skates”!!

Lion used to do compatible cartridges but I can’t find them on their website anymore.

Shame anyway.

I’ve been reloading the cartridges for a while now but care is needed as they do not fire the same as the bought cartridges and often get jammed. I buy the Alfamacchine v nails for this job. There is a limit to how many times you can remove the ‘plug’ without it deteriorating. Onwards and ………..

Yeas it's a bit of a PITA to reload cartridges and I usually snap off the little ratchet bits. If you're careful you can
put them in the machine without the nails coming out the end. Once you get them loaded they work fine. Trouble is,
the Uni wedges I use are made by Cassese too.
I have a box of Imnes cartridges somewhere that look exactly the same but I seem to remember they are a bit iffy.

I've seen this too but I can't see any news reports on the situation. Does anyone have a credible source with the full story?

I tried the Imnes wedges and they seemed to work fine. 7mm ones anyway.
