Securing D links on floating frames

Hi there new here and find the questions and reply’s very useful.

Can I ask people’s thoughts on how to secure the D links on floating frames. I have seen a lot of frames where the d link is attached to the floating frame with a short screws that are screwed into the frame alone. My concern is the weight of the frame and canvas is now being held by the frame alone.

Does anyone recommend using longer screws that attach to the canvas frame as well. This way the weight of the canvas and frame is being picked up by the canvas frame - ie no load at all on the floating frame.

If it's just a canvas without glass there won't be much weight so even small screws should be fine.
If you want to screw through into the canvas as well just get longer screws. How have you been fixing the canvas into the frame if you haven't been using longer screws?
You can also use double d-rings if you think it needs a bit more strength.

Thanks for the reply - I have been using d links with double screws and after thinking about the weights I’m dealing with and your feedback -I agree the 4 small screws will more than adequately hold the weight.
