Framing an oil painting on card

Post by Gemmie123 »

Hi
I’m framing an oil painting on card, I usually do canvases or oils on board so just wanted to check- what’s best practice for this type of job ? Or Any suggestions , ideas?

This is what I’m thinking currently(front to back )…..

Moulding
Glass /Acrylic glass
Spacer required ?
Mountboard(s)/ slip
Artwork
Backing board

Thanks in advance

The medium doesn’t really matter, treat it like anything else on card or heavy paper and use a window mount, or a double or a deep bevel/mount slip/whatever

You shouldn’t need any spacers if your mount is deep enough but you will need an undermount, which you haven’t listed.
