Some on here may know Richard Atkins from Livingston, a lifelong framer of some repute. Sadly Richard passed away on 27th July at Tippethill House Hospital, Armadale. His wife Monica passed away in March this year. RIP.

Thanks for letting us know. That's very sad news, I did my first ever training with him. He was a wonderful educator and a real gentleman.

Richard & Monika were a lovely couple. During my many years working at Hot Press they went above & beyond to help me promote the products in Scotland. I feel fortunate that I knew them both for thirty years & when Richard told me that he had lost Monika in March of this year I had a "feeling" that they would not be apart for long.

Rest well my friends - you are missed & will be fondly remembered by many in this industry.

Richard's Funeral Details

Richard's sister, Erica has been in touch this afternoon with details as follows...

1st September - 12 noon at St. Peters RC Church in Livingston - 9 Carmondean Centre - Livingston - EH54 8PT
then 1pm at West Lothian Crematorium - Starlaw Place - Starlaw Road - Livingston - EH54 7FD
With refreshments at Grand Central afterwards - Carmondean Centre - Livingston - EH54 8PT

I hope some of his many friends & students on here can make it.

We will miss you sir!

Very sad about this, Richard trained me a few years ago , he was brilliant and it was a great laugh.
