Glass Cutters Other than the Excalibur?

Post by RobM »

Hi Everyone,

I'm setting up my new framing studio and I'm looking for a glass cutter.

The ideal would be Keencut Excalibur, but at least the EXC5160 version will be too high for my space (I have approx 2300mm in height).

This has got me to wondering if there are any other glass cutters that you good folk would recommend, as I'm only aware of the Excalibur? Perhaps any that might be more cost-effective for a newcomer like me?

There is of course the EXC5122, which is slighter lower than the larger version, but I'd be interested to hear if there are options other than Keencut for this.

Thanks, All!

The Fletcher 3100 (available from Lion, or I saw one for sale second-hand on here yesterday) is a very good quality alternative to the Excalibur, and smaller on the wall. There are pros and cons to both, but I would happily use either

I have the Fletcher 3100, excellent tool. It's 2000mm in height. You'll be bending your knees a lot if your ceiling height is only 2300mm.

Morning Jim and Justin.

The Fletcher 3100 is a new one to me, so I may well consider that one. It sounds like it fits my main criterion. Next step...the "wants" page.

Good to hear from you again, fellas, and I appreciate the advice.
