Hello everyone. I am like a lot of framers on borrowed time with my Cassese CS88 underpinner. I am considering the Alfa U200P bench top machine and am wondering what it is like to use from the rear as I want to maintain the set up I have in the photo were the underpinner is butted up against a bench to support larger frames and enabling me to work behind it.

Although the spec states it can be configured either way, none of the videos online show this and from the photos looks like it might be more awkward to use from behind.

Would greatly appreciate any advice from anyone that has used this machine. Thanks in advance....

I used mine from behind with no issues, it is a good little machine.

I’ve since upgraded purely because I found a bargain, but I was very happy with the U200P when I was using it.

The only thing to get used to is having to change the wedge block when you want to use different size wedges, rather than just putting in a new cassette like the Casesse. It does only take a couple of minutes mind so isn’t really an issue.
