I think they are getting blunt now as when I cut ayous there are tiny frays, like hairs that aren't cut. Also, fingered pine tends to just crumble so genereally avoid pine. Does anyone know of a video that explains how to remove the blades as I am a bit incapable sometimes and really worried that I will slice off my hands.
Is there a quick fix to sharpen blades? with sandpaper? aluminium foil?
Do you recommend removing and having them sharpened or buying new? I am in London, UK, if this helps.
Thanks

You have not told us the brand/model of your miter machine. All manufactures have instruction manuals to handle this simple task.

Sharpening miter guillotine blades should be hollow ground by a person who has the proper equipment and knowledge to do so. It is not a DIY endeavor. The cost of sharpening is far less than the cost of new blades.

They are removed and replaced via bolts that hold them to the body of the machine. Wearing protective gloves as essential during this process, especially if you have not done this before.

Industrial cut-proof / resistant gloves.
