Hi all,

Is anyone selling a decent fine dust extractor that will be good enough for a Cassese CS999? Ideally looking for one with auto shake.

Or recommendations on what I should keep an eye out for? Messed up last year getting a Charnwood 2hp one, worse piece of equipment I have bought.

Will not be run for heavy use. People who are running saws, do you build enclosures around the saws or do the extractors keep the dust to a minimum for you?

The only effective way to eliminate the dust is to house the dust/chip extractor in a separate room or sealed enclosure.

A 2hp extractor should be able to carry all the dust from the saw enclosure, but it's always the fine dust which escapes through the filter bag of the extractor that causes the problem.

The only solution is to run a long hose into a separate room or to build an enclosure with some timber battens and polythene sheeting. You would need easy and convenient access as the filter bag on the extractor regularly needs shaken to release clogged sawdust and maintain good suction.
This is usually done with the extractor switched off and giving the bag a good shaking for a couple of seconds.
