Keencut Laser help

Post by blackcatframing »

Hi People,
I have just purchased a second hand keencut Laser mount-cutter.
Although I have downloaded a user manual, I would like a video on how to use this.
Can anyone help?
Also I dont know if the unit has all its bits and pieces
I have attached some photos.

There aren't any videos on YouTube, this is an old machine. The user manual should give you everything you need though. If you're lucky there'll be someone here who has framed for long enough to remember it!

I don’t see a margin guide. which is really important, or a squaring arm, which is not so important but should still be there.

The manual should show them and describe their function of course.

Here’s a photo I found showing them anyway

It looks similar to the Keencut Ultimat so watch a video on that and see if it helps.

I'm in the same boat, just got a 2nd hand Laser 1200 and mine came with the manual. I'd definitely go with the manual rather than a video as getting it calibrated & dialled in, it's a simple process once you get the hang of it, if a little repetitive.

The manual is here https://www.keencut.com/assets/Instruct ... Manual.pdf

I agree with JKX, the margin guide is kind of required and I've found the squaring arm really useful for cutting mount to size as well.
