UNIQUE FEATURE - NO GLUE WEDGES

That's really interesting. Can you explain what difference there is between your product and the new one sold by Larson Juhl please? Just to help Forum members make an informed purchase choice.

Interesting marketing email from Larson Juhl today.

Built for Framers Who Demand Precision and Reliability

When it comes to cartridge wedges, not all products are created equal. Many framers tell us they assumed wedges were “all much the same”

Larson-Juhl’s Cartridge Wedges are the only cartridge system on the market developed from Cassese’s original design and decades of framing expertise. Engineered for professional framers, Larson-Juhl’s wedges are precisely collated inside a robust plastic cartridge without the use of glue, ensuring smooth feeding and flawless joining every time.

Unlike competitor alternatives, this glue free technology delivers a consistently tighter, stronger corner, while dramatically reducing wedge jams that slow production and interrupt workflow. Over time, it also helps protect your machine’s distributor block and hammer, extending machine life and lowering maintenance costs.

________________________________________
Larson-Juhl Cartridge Wedges vs Competitor Wedges
More wedges per box
Larson Juhl cartridges contain more wedges per carton, helping reduce reordering and minimise production downtime. Each box includes 1,400 wedges, compared to 1,120 in standard competitor cartridges—so you complete more frames from every box.

Better value for money
With lower pricing per box and more wedges per unit, Larson Juhl delivers a lower cost per frame, helping protect your margins without compromising performance or quality.

Superior build quality
Larson-Juhl precision manufactured wedges provide cleaner, tighter corner joins with reliable, consistent results you can depend on.

Glue free cartridge design
Unlike most alternatives, Larson Juhl wedges are made without glue. This advanced design improves feeding, reduces jamming, and helps protect critical machine components such as the distributor block and hammer—extending machine life and reducing maintenance costs.

Looks and sounds like the same thing, pack size, cartridge colour, no glue.

Price? I can’t see the LJ price, account long disabled!

OP hasn’t visited the forum since starting the thread.

Just had a visit from Dai @Centrado with more info on the BEST wedges. They offer Alfa too as well as Framers Points (same shape as Fletcher). Prices look very appealing and all come in about 50% cheaper than the branded ones!!!!

The bumpf says the wedges are "Crafted from a proprietary steel alloy - BEST® Cartridge Wedges expand as they are driven in then spring back to deliver exceptional corner compression. The result is consistently tight - flawlessly closed joins."

Anyone tried them out yet? Dai said early verdict was positive.
