Framing Business Insurance

Hi all,

I think this is a topic that has come up before, but I wondered if anyone has any top tips on insurance that covers:
- Public Liability
- Goods Held in Trust (customer's artwork)
- Contents/Equipment

I'm taking up a workshop that is very classically Victorian (i.e. several single glazed windows).
It has three doorways of entry, at least one of which will have a deadlock.
The main site yard has big gates that get locked up when no one's there, and there are several CCTV cameras too.

I think I've seen Hiscox mentioned. Any other providers people would recommend looking into?

Anything it tends to be worth telling a provider when taking out a policy (or anything best left unsaid - to avoid hiking premiums to the hilt!)?

Thanks,
Rob.

Sounds obvious but make sure to insure all of your equipment at new replacement valuation. Make sure to include transport of goods if you intend to ever do a collection or delivery.
I use Hiscox.

There are another topics of coverage that you have not mentioned.

- "Completed products" liability insurance. This can be as simple as: damage to contents / surroundings or injury if it falls off a wall.
- Loss of income due to some event
- Liability regarding installation / transporting the work to the client
- Liability with you using improper methods used including the slip of a tool. This is generally separate from "bailee" coverage(storage of customers property).
