Hi all at the Framers Forum,

I have been a long time watcher but only a couple of times a questioner on the forum but I have a question about availability of picture framing resources in the USA. To cut a long story short I have been commissioned to write a book about picture framing aimed at the amateur market with a step by step theme throughout. The books are published in this country as well as Europe but primarily they are aimed at the American market. As I am based in the UK (Petersfield, Hampshire), I have a fairly good idea of what potential students can get access to in the way of tools and materials here in the UK (basically you guys!). However I have no idea how readily available the same tools may be in the USA. Does anyone have any contacts in the USA or maybe there are members of this forum that might be able to confirm the tools that I would recommend via a brief e-mail? Thanking you in advance for any suggestions and my best wishes to you all.

Kindest Regards,

Andy Parks.

Have you tried The Framers Grumble

Both Picture Framing Magazine and Art and Framing Sources (Art Business News) have web sites and publish a yearly supplement to their journals which have more information than the average person can absorb. Decor Magazine has a supplement, too, but I am not crazy about it.

Both of these supplements are close to two hundred pages of contact information categorized by types of materials supplied, services rendered, geographic information, etc.

This information can be extracted from their respective web sites, but I find the hard copy a bit easier to use. Give them a jingle and they might send you the latest copies.
