Blocking email addresses

Post by Roboframer »

If I right click on an email address I can opt to block it, but some of these email addresses still turn up in my spam folder; when I right click on some addresses in my spam folder and opt to block them, they still appear - albeit still in the spam folder.

How do you block them for ever and ever?

Thanks Áine - so, what is 'Gmail' in baby/dinosaur speak?

Also - do you think that some of these techno-(notice) phrases have evolved/been stolen from, long-lost every day phrases? - As I'm sure that 'Gmail' - pronounced 'Guh-mayl' - is how my Aunt Kitty used to call her chickens!

OK - think I can giggle most of that, but I have problems with spam filters - man - can no-one spell 'fritters'?

John,
I see your brain and body clock is still in the USA time mode!
Go to to bed and get some sleep !
A tip - when you get on a plane set your watch to the time of the destination.
Concentrate hard on the time there - if its night time - dont read or talk close your eyes and try to sleep.
And hang around and be the last to board - even if it means they put a call out for "the last remaining passenger blah blah"
Then dont go to your seat - walk all the way to the rear and when you see a row of three sit in the middle seat. If its row of 4 sit in a middle seat again.
Then you may get the chance to lie down and get some decent kip.

There were only a few empty seats on my flight to Manchester - but I got 3 all to myself by using this tactic.
And I'm back in UK time mode real quick. :D
Pity you are not able to make NEC
Whats this got to do with blocking email addresses

Use mailwasher.

This sits between the mail server and your client. It automatically creates a list of spam addresses but does not automatically delete them. You will see every message sent to you but spam will be marked as such. Other messages not in the spam database will either be marked spam/good or good. This gives you the opportunity of allowing messages through that have been flagged in the database by someone else but you know it to be ok. A program that removes messages automatically can cause problems. You also have a facility to permanently mark addresses as spam and although they will appear in the message list they will also be marked as spam.

Clicking "process mail" removes any messages marked spam and opens your email client. Very simple program to use, I have the paid for version but there is a free version as well.

Worth trying.
