How old is your Morso?

Just added this to help anyone interested to know the age of their machine(s)

Go to.... http://www.morso-guillotines.dk/webuk/mitre_history.htm

I wonder why they stop in 1985? :?

That's easy! In 1985 they started putting the European Union "CE mark" on them and anything carrying the CE mark must be dated so that it is possible to tell how up to date it is with current CE mark approvals requirements.

This means that owners of later machines don't need a website to tell the age of their machine, as the year of manufacture is marked on the machine!

How do I know this? My machine was made in 1985 and has the "CE mark", which includes the date of manufacture.

Arr..... I remember the day my Morso was born. :D Had to get it up a flight of stairs, still in it's packing case. Nearly put my back out. Later on, nearly sliced the end of my finger off.

Happy memories. :smirk:

If I remember correctly, my Morso was made in 1957. It has a base like an old tredle sewing machine. When I bought it 5 years ago for a $100. US, I stripped it down, repainted red with gold trim, and reblued the measuring guide. Looks great and reminds me of a restored fire engine (They are the same colors here in the US)

Hello J Paul
If yours was made in 1957 then it should be numbered between 2080 - 2242

Mine is 1984- it's done about 23 miles, as far as I know, distance from where I bought it to my workshop

A bit of a coincidence with mine. It was made in 1977, same year I started trading. I didn't get it till 1982.
