Hi,
Does anyone know where I can buy a set of spring clamps in London (the little horse-shoe shaped springs you put on with pliers to fasten a corner while it dries)? I foolishly assumed that most hardware stores would stock them, but even online I can only find them on American sites, and I need to get hold of a set by Monday morning.
If anyone could help me out with this I'd really appreciate it - I'm starting to go a little bit crazy trawling through the internet looking for them!
I don't even know what the proper name is for these - maybe that would help, or if someone knew of a brand that manufactured them.
Thanks a lot,
Nick.

Welcome to the hub of all framing knowledge Nick. Here you should find any answers to questions that anyone you can phone for advice is unable to answer
If you do find Ulmia spring clamps in London by other means please post as to where you got them - I'm after a set myself.
Mr Harrold, if you read this it may be something worth stocking(?)

Try Tilgear, southwhere near the northern part of the M25. I don't know where my Tilgear catalogue is right now, but I know they used to have them in the cataloue. I don't know which make they have, but there are two different suppliers.
There are also some from Axminster Power tools, but they are a cheaper product and possibly more hobby oriented.

I had a competitor who used that system for securing corners.
It always disturbed me that the “C” ring thingies marred the wood.

Look very similar to bone reduction forceps used in orthopaedics for holding fractured bone fragments in correct alignment while screws and plates are put in place. These would however have pointed ends as they need to dig into the cortex of the bone. Don't know if you would find a supplier at the weekend though.
