Why oh why does it happen??

Quite alot of tourists around yesterday browsing in my shop, sold a few prints.

Chap comes in and buys a big 9 post card multi apeture laural and Hardy and asks if i can frame it in 45mins as he has to leave then. No problem says I...
Make up frame, cut glass, assemble, small black mark near top of mount, didnt rub out so one of those nasty foreign bodies in the mount. Further investigation with scalpel and wish i hadnt, what was a vaguely noticeable grey mark became and explosion of dust, like a crater. The further i dug the worst it got, blokes comin back in 15mins :sweating: It was all or nothing so i kept digging, through the top layer of paper, into the pulp, made a right proper hole! The mount was a textured white, now somthing to fill it with, Rowney white zinc mixing acrylic paint in hand i start filling, it was suprisingly good match.
The print was the only one i had of that type and they paid for it up front.
My repair looked reasonable, for me that means it was probably quite good, i am "cursed" with an eagle eye for imperfection! A final act of cowardice, i refrained from putting a lable on the back...
Bloke returns, very happy, leaves.
10 minutes later he's back, I'm wiv a customer...
He butts in and asks if he can have a label for the back so his sister can keep a record of where it came from cause she likes to do that wiv her pictures. Of course says i, how silly of me to forget... :?
What would you have done??
