Does anybody know where I could get a logo embossed on to a mount? Am doing a bit of investigation for a contract job.

Depends on the style of the logo but it might be something that could be done on a CMC. Can you post a picture of the logo?

If the logo to be reproduced is supplied by, say, a company that is doing some self promotion, you should be fine.
However, if it is for something like a sports team or rock band, chances are that it is copyrighted, and some of them tend to be very hinkey about letting logos being reproduced without a license.
CMCs are the best thing since cream filled cupcakes, but they have a limited ability to reproduce very fine, subtle detail. If the logo is intricate, you may want to explore the possibility of custom made decals or stamps.

Will try to take a decent photo of it tomorrow. Thanks.

The logo looks fairly simple to me and 'belongs' to the company requesting the mounts for their long service awards.
Sorry, can't get it any smaller.

Looking at the logo, the best idea I can think of is to get it printed in the corner or whereever of a suitable type of paper. Drymount the paper. Cut the widow.

It could be printed directly onto the mount, of course.
I've sent you a PM.

Heavy duty embossing press or Extra heavy duty embossing press might be suitable.

Hi Juliet,
I have some ideas. The Wizard has a debossing tool which can outline the logo which is fairly simple. Someone on this forum can help with that. You could print it as an embossed image (attached) and using a contour cutter cut out the logo and stick it on. Have it printed onto adhesive paper or use starch or double sided tape to attach it. The idea of using an embossing press it ok but they are expensive and you need a deep cut die with high pressure machine to do it, a pressurised hot foil printer will do the job. The image printed on clear vinyl can simply be stuck on, you can use sanded glass vinyl to get a subtle effect.
Hope this helps

There are many alternative ways of doing this with a CMC. (I saw the new Gunnar F1 Hybrid at the Framing show in Sydney and was astounded by the capabilities of this machine. I'll list some of them in the next few days in the appropriate forum) These are some that I can think of at the moment
1. Cut the design in the top mat with another mat under the cut. Same colour or a different colour.
2. Cut the design in the top mat with another mat under the cut then fabric wrap them using the fallouts stuck to another mat to press the fabric into the cutouts in your heat press.
3. Cut the design in a scrap mat and glue the fallouts onto the main mat, then fabric wrap the mat so that the design is proud of the main mat.
4. Emboss the outline in the mat with a CMC.
5. Cut the design as a vee groove.
6. Cut the design in the mat by hand with an Exacto knife a la Brian Wolfe. This takes a bit of practise!
7. Cut an oval shape in the top mat and have the logo sublimated onto silver or gold plate, then place this under the oval opening.
Can't think of any more just now!
