Don't ignore chest pain in cold weather

During the cold weather of the last couple of days, I had a lot of angina type chest pain. So I thought that I would wrap up warm and wait for this cold spell to pass. I had not intended to go and see my doctor, but was bullied into doing so by family members.
What my doctor told me was that when cold weather leads to increased levels of chest pain, it is called unstable angina which if left untreated is very dangerous and can easily lead to a heart attack, even if you don't have any problems at all when it is not so cold.
Apparently ignoring such symptoms kills a lot of people and if I had not seen my doctor I could have been in imminent danger of having another heart attack. Fortunately I've had a lot of urgent tests done and had my medication changed to help protect me. Hopefully when my tests come back, then there won't be any futher problems.
Knowing how the pressure of work, leads many of us to just keep going and how I was doing just that when I had my first heart attack, it's just possible that this thread might be a timely warning to someone else.
I hope we all have a good new year.
