The specifications for the current Morso F say that the rebate supports can handle a rebate up to about 38mm deep. However the rebate supports on my Morso F, which is a 1961 model, only seem capable of handling a 26mm rebate. I need to find a way of increasing this to at least 32mm.

Lion (tel:0121 7731230) sell Height Extenders which will work on any Morso F. Catalogue no:6143 £79.95 a set.

Or if your budget doesn't stretch to this I have in the past cut little strips of mount board in the shape of my morso rebate support and built them up to the required height using double sided tape. A slip of wood would do the same job.

Cutting upside down is only any good for flat profiles - and not all either.

Toss your standard rebate supports (well not totally - you never know - mine are about somewhere) and buy a pair of deep rebate supports.

Where from? Well - no idea at the mo' - I bought mine from Euro Mouldings yonks ago - they went bust less yonks ago - Lion don't seem to sell the real McCoy - not after a quick search on their website anyway - maybe a phone call would prove different - they do exist!

Now when I was a lad, you could have a slap-up meal, get p*ssed out of your brain, buy a set of deep rebate supports and a taxi home and still have change from a dustbin lid.

we got fed up messing about with double sided tape so we got some strong magnets from Axminster http://www.axminster.co.uk/product.asp? ... e=1&jump=0 and set them into a couple of pieces of 50 x 20mm timber. They work perfectly and are stuck on the side of the morso when not in use so they dont get lost.

These magnets also have many uses around the workshop, sticking frequently used allen keys to the underpinner or screwdriver to morso for instance

Knocked these up at no cost really, just a couple of quid for the magnets and a wee bit of labour. Not pretty, not precision, but they work.

I'm impressed. My are held on with magnets, but in comparison to yours, mine are a bit of a bodge. Mine don't have any positive location feature like yours at all, but have to be lined up by eye each time I use them.

After that they seem to stay in place due to the magnets. I used some scrap bit of oak moulding for mine. I'm on my second set now, I think that the first set were binned by mistake.

My magnets have a hole for a countersunk screw. I thought that the magnets should be quite strong, but if you tighten the screw too much the magnets will crack in half, I found this out when I used the same magnets for a framing job.
