Easel Back Material

Post by laseren1 »

Hello, I'm new to the site and I have a unique item I make. I have a Laser and I make Picture Frames with unique shapes. I don't know if this is the right spot ask about this but I'm looking for the cardboard material that makes up the easels on a frame. I want to make different shapes to match the frames I make. So I have been looking for the stuff to make them myself. I know I can cut the shapes but I will need the hardware to assemble the hinges and the lock for the flap for the window. I hope this made some sense but any hep will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Laseren1, and welcome to the Forum. :hi:

Would I be correct in my reading of your request that you are looking for something to make "standbacks" to fit your custom frames (e.g. the stands used to display pictures on tables, mantlepieces, desks, etc.)?

Firstly, I would suggest that, given that you're based in the States, that you join The Picture Framer's Grumble (if you haven't already) and ask the same question there, because the majority of the membership are US-based and might be able to point you in the direction of suitable US-based suppliers.

Secondly, it would be worth your contacting Lion Picture Framing Supplies. They are based in Birmingham in the UK, but they have all manner of gadgets and picture framing accessories, including systems for fixing fittings to frame backing boards (possibly their "Wun-Pul" system might do the trick for you.

Hope this helps! :)
