Non stick moulding

Why oh why do moulding manufacturers varnish the backs of some mouldings?
I had just finished a batch of frames for a customer when i noticed that the tape wasnt sticking well to the frame - remove tape - sand backs - refix - I only wish the idiot who produced the moulding had been avaialble for verbal abuse - And for the supplier - A&T I shall be talking to you on Monday!
Shallow rebates - non stick mouldings - non stick backing board ( sorry -corriwhateveryourcallednow board - the water resistant backing still doesnt take lick and stick tape with conviction) why dont we have industry standards for these things instead of just accepting what were given.
For 2005 industry could have done better awards I nominate:
obviously the moulding I have just mentioned supplied by a firm based in Nottingham - 4015.899 and its variants - all with varnished backs.
Any more nominations
