Gobsmacked by the awesome simplicity of this - a tip given to me by my newest member of staff who learned it on a framing course with a well known GCF- I have to pass this on.
put some of the "non sticky" sellotape mask on the mount, cut the mount through the tape, paint the bevel, remove the tape....
brilliant!
also works for washlines, and eliminates your blobbing problem.
why didn't someone tell me this 15 years ago. and why dont people want washlines or coloured mount bevels any more? gah!
Hi Kev. Thought you had been away on holiday or somewhere.
Good tip. Like another one.. When doing pen lines on a mount use a 'Post It' note at either end. i.e. The start and stop of the lines. That way the blob that you get when you start the line in on the note . It also give a very sharp start and stop to the line.
Let it dry and use the same note and align it up the shart edge and draw the pen line again.
