I had a mate who was a car nut. His missus told him he loved his car more than he loved her. He said that's not true, I love you both equally.
It didn't last. :Slap:

This was the love of my life for a few years - had to let her go when we moved to Yorkshire as we had no garage to keep her in.....

Dammit - the wife's 220CDi Estate just went back to the leasing company. 30K miles, *average* speed over 60mph (she works a long way from home), *avg* consumption 46mpg or so.......

I'll take a piccy of my van's Garmin readout tomorrow - it does around 44mpg on a good run too! Transit Connect's a bit of a comedown from the XK8 mind......

Never mind the MPG - even though it's pretty good for a 3.2 V6, petrol.

My readout was Cardiff to here, including getting out of Cardiff, two very long sets of roadworks on the M4 with average speed cameras - cruise control set to 50, and this end when the fun ended at Chichester with 20 miles to go.

robo - lovely car - thats a meaty engine, power to weight ratio must give it a fair bit of 'GO' ! Just the job for comfortable long distance jaunts.

Tim - not sure i could have let her go  and that colour - beautiful! Did you say somewhere you turned the garage into your gallery/workshop ? Not sure i could have done that but i suppose needs must :( .

Actually no.....I had a nice heated garage in Scotland when we lived up there, but when we came down to Yorkshire, the 'building' that was described as a garage on the particulars turned out to be in the back garden, and not accessible from any road following 'improvements' made by the previous owners

The Jag ended up spending the first winter here outdoors, and despite a proper car cover, still got damp and mildewed, so I took pity on her, gave her a good valet and let her go.

I'll get another one sometime though. Same colour, but an XKR if I can find one!
