Hi
Nice looking forum.
We are looking at making our Jigsaw frame in the UK and we have found a local wood turner that can make the frames for us at a reasonable price.

I need to source two mount boards or cardboard pads in the UK for each frame and also a Acrylic in the same size but 1 per frame, they don't need to be any thing flash just a board 1.4 mill thick by 710mm x 510mm. and also a 500mm x 370 mm board the Acrylic can be 2mm thick.

I have found the best price for Acrylic is £3.43 and £1.75 could anyone suggest any other company where i could save money.
I need to source 200 Acrylic and 400 boards for the first order and then the same again in 4 months time.

I have searched eBay, Goggle alibabba ect but i cannot find what i am after.
We really would like to source the products in the UK if not then its back to china we go.
Any help Appreciated.

Many thanks
Pete

Hi Peter

Have you considered given John at Merlin Mounts http://www.merlinmounts.co.uk/backing-boards.htm a shout about his backing board, he could cut any size for you.

Your size 710mm x 510mm is not a great size to get an economical cut from the materials used for picture framing, never the less I would talk to John, he may be able to do something that will work for the both of you.

All........Have a look at this and it will give you an idea of what Peter is looking for. http://www.jigthings.com/JigsawFRAMES/

Hi Dermot
Thanks for the reply
I will look them up.
I have found a company who will supply the Board at 94p a sheet but not cut to size.
If there is a local company who to Spalding or Boston who feels like trimming 600 sheets to size, LMK
Cheers
Pete

If you can talk to your local “large” printing company there should be a few in your area (not the quick print type printer) and they have a guillotine (ask them what size paper/board will it take) big enough for the size of the board you can buy they may for a fee accept delivery from your supplier and then cut it to size for you, 600 sheets is a pallet quantity, they will also have the forklift to handle this.

You could also ask them to price the whole job including buying the material/board, they would have good contacts with the paper/board merchants
