Wtd: Print finishing equipment

Post by JamesC »

Hi all,

I was more or less given a Xerox 7750gx laser printer by a customer, a graphics laser printer now superceded by the 7760 but still useful and was over £5k new (looks like a big photocopier without the scanner). Prints great.

Anyway, I was supposed to get a bookletmaker with it but his staff had skipped it when he went on holiday because they hated it (it was bit temperamental and in the way but would have been ok for me so a shame). He had already bought a new machine with a bookletmaker on it for £15k (he has a large data collection business).

I mainly aim to make my own brochures, flyers and stationery now but as I know several graphic designers and people who run clubs and so on I'm spotting a small opportunity for making booklets, business cards, letterheads etc. to help pay for the equipment I get to do my own with. I know quite a few framers do dabble in this area along with photocopying.

I'm looking on eBay and trying to find reasonably productive equipment without spending thousands and pressurising myself into having to sell loads of print or take away my focus on my main activities.

Anybody got any spare bookletmakers/paper guillotines/hot laminators other useful items for sale/gathering dust/using up valuable space? I prefer single phase electric versions to fully manual unless very quick/effective.

PM me if you have please. In the North of England or able to palletise/deliver is better for me but it depends.

Thanks
