Insurance in republic of Ireland

hi.
im just wondering about the best place to go for insurance (employers/public liability)
im sure its on the site somewhere, but after doing a search, im getting mainly posts from england.
its for a home based workshop in my back garden and the best (only) quote i have received is 800+ euro

Hi,
That price seems about right. My recommendation would be to go to your local Insurance Broker and get them to do the legwork for you. This type of policy, especially if combined with a home policy on the same site can be a little tricky. There is also a policy Aviva do - "Trademark Policy" - may suit your needs.

I pay a lot less than that for 900sq feet of art gallery and workshop. Ill try to get details tomorrow for you.

i am actually paying more than that, so i would be very interested too
I only have 450 sq ft too

Hi
I do a bit of engineering consultancy for Guinness and we use RSA from the UK to cover all plant for both P&EL as well as plant specific insurance. Since RSA (Royal Sun Alliance) are a UK company but with a lot of work in RoI then it may be worth making contact with them.
Its a whole different scale to picture farming and may not even be interested, but worth a look.
