Framer wanted - trainee or experienced

Post by JamesC »

I'm looking for a new framer and/or printer with any extra imaging or business skills you can bring a welcome bonus. Position may mould around you so looking for the best person more than specific role.

Based in beautiful and friendly North Yorkshire - Malton near York, The Moors, Scarborough, Castle Howard, Whitby etc. Low crime and quiet.

Would consider a young or middle-aged trainee, would consider a master framer who can bring new directions or work to the business. Would consider a graphics professional or printer who wants to learn to frame but can help on the print or marketing side of the business. We have a Morso EH, computerised mountcutting, vacuum press, pneumatic underpinner, excalibur 5000, jetmounter and so on - all the things to make any complexity of framing job quick and easy.

Our main focus is large format printing to a very high standard with modern and traditional finishes. Largely working and designing with photos but also increasingly artists. We do not have a shop.

You would join a team of 4 including a 25 years experienced framer and 2 business graduates. Business likely to grow over the coming years significantly as it is already.

Please PM or e-mail with CV if interested. Must be hardworking, have a can do attitude, and not just looking to gain experience to set up on your own after a few months - we need committed dependable people or we cannot move forward. Having said this if you seek a part-time position to juggle other interests we would be open to ongoing flexible working suggestions with the right experienced person.

Hi james
Very interesting. I'm actively searching for framing work at the moment. I've got four years experience of bespoke and contract picture framing. With a good eye for detail and working to high standards, I am used to meeting deadlines and customers’ demands. In addition, I am organised and methodical and always strive to use materials economically without compromising quality or efficiency.

In particular, I am familiar with the following:

● Pneumatic and manual Morso frame cutters and Cassese circular saw
● Computerised Cassese underpinner and manual underpinner
● Wall mounted Fletcher glass, mount and backing board cutter
● Glass cutting with hand tools
● Pneumatic and spring operated tab and staple guns
● Assembly, taping and stringing of finished product
● Packing of product for client
● Maintaining a safe and tidy workshop

If you are interested in me and the position is still available, give me an email on cjaysmith@yahoo.co.uk
Yours, Colin Smith

Thanks for your interest - I have replied by e-mail.

Post is still open though I have had 16 applicants from all sources, two experienced in framing. Anyone may still apply and I think I'll set a provisonal application deadline of this coming Sunday 13th Feb to help out.

I have exclusively supplied a seemingly successful stand at the Spring Fair however and in the near future may need another 10 workers or more! My clients are in advanced talks with major distributors so any CVs can always be sent at any time for my file. Feet still firmly on the ground at this moment.

I'll still plan to keep the online and bespoke side alive in any event so plenty of proper framing to get stuck into as well!
