Help with Fletcher 2200

Dear all,

The cutting head of my Fletcher is rocking on the right side, not the bevelled side. I can't fine an Allen key to fit it, have tried both metric and imperial. Anyone know what size I need?

The machine is less than a year old. I am finding keeping it calibrated difficult. What am I doing wrong?

This week I have attempted a multi aperture that was too large for the stops to measure and so I measured by hand and used the guiding tool with stops where measurements could reach. The difference between my measuring and the Fletcher between 1 and 2 mm. Luckily the mount was for me so no rush or stress and plenty of mount left from a previous job. in the end I just used my measuring and drawn lines.

Any help would be great. :sweating:

many thanks,
Sandra.

I'm not in the workshop at the moment so I will have to check tomorrow, but as the Fletcher is American I guess it will be an imperial size. You just need to tighten the screws very slightly until they bite then back off until the head will run free.

When marking out I either did it all on the stops or all to my drawn lines, I'd use the cutter as a drawing board and hold the pencil at an angle, similar to the blade, this reduced the effect but I'd still get a slight variation.

We needed to do some tweaks to our Fletcher to keep it running smoothly, and we also lost our allen key. We phoned Roy Rowlands and also spoke to him at the Lions event last October, and he sorted everything out for us. The allen key is an American one so may need to be sent over from there.

Roy is the person to speak to though as he is the expert. His phone number is 01527 558777.

The allen key you need is 1/16" across the flats, hope you find something. There are 3 screws that need adjusting, one on top and two on the straight blade side, low down front and back.
