Framing Seminars at the Framers Forum Live! You Choose!

Post by The Jolly Good Framer #1 »

It’s not long now until the biggest picture framing event of the year and we are lucky enough to have one of the UK’s leading experts in framing business matters volunteering to give us two seminars.

Jim Anderson will be at the FFL and will be running two seminars (one in the morning and one in the afternoon).
And this is where you come in...
Jim has a possible 6 seminars but we only have time for 2 and we would like you to choose which ones he will give by way of a vote.

Below you will find the title and a brief description of all 6 possible seminars – have a look and choose the two you would like Jim to give and post a message with the numbers (1-6).
The seminars with the most votes will be the ones Jim will present on the day.

So here they are...

1 PRICING FOR PROFIT
A work-shop style presentation where each delegate will come away with a personalised blueprint for realistic pricing for their own business.

2 BUSINESS NETWORKING FOR PICTURE FRAMERS
There is a whole load of business out there ready for the taking! An in depth explanation of how to get business and enjoyment from networking. Audience participation essential!

3 DECISION-MAKING FOR PICTURE FRAMERS
Should I buy a CMC? Would chop be better than buying by length? I will cover strategies for making those decisions, and give you tools to analyse your business and finances.

4 DESIGN DESK SELLING
This really is a master class in selling bespoke picture-framing, from the initial enquiry to the finished product. You will also get a copy of my step-by-step design desk process that will transform your sales.

5 MARKETING FOR (NEARLY) NO MONEY
Using your time, skill and (mostly) waste materials to gain local fame and fortune. Why isn't everyone doing this?

6 NOT JUST SURVIVE, BUT THRIVE IN A RECESSION.
Strategies for small business to gain ground whilst times are hard. This is real glass half full, motivational stuff.

Choose the two you would most like to see and post your vote below.

But who is Jim?
Jim Anderson runs the successful picture framers and gallery Gesso & Bole in Derby and also Framing Mentor offering consulting services and training courses tailor made for the picture framing industry. You may have also seen him at the Lion Event last year giving a seminar – Very popular!

No. 1 should be a no brainer! Newcomers and old timers can always learn something to benefit their business from a class like this. It's the foundation of a framer's income and what's more important to running a business than that???

Way too many framers calculate their prices from the point of view of a customer and charge too little. Mind you, some of the ones I've seen should be paying the customer to take their framing away!

The rest are too hard to choose from. They would all be worthwhile.

1 definitely, and either 2 or 4 would be good for me, although I'd be happy to see any of the others.

For me the order is: 1, 6, 4, 5, 2, 3

They all sound interesting but the financial one's hit the mark in current economic conditions, closely followed by the design and then the others. I would be happy to attend any and all of them. Well done Jim on having such a wide portfolio.
