For Sale - Shrink wrap machine

Post by Not your average framer »

I'm clearing out the back room in my shop to make space for a CMC. Unfortunately I need the space, so quite a few things will need to go, including my shrink wrap machine. The picture is from a catalogue, so it is not the actual machine, but it looks identical to this apart from the hand held heat gun which is different. Ideal for quick, easy and neatly wrapping of mounted prints, etc.

The machine is fully operational and was professionally fitted with a new element by a local packaging equipment supplier about 18 months ago. It is complete with the silicon heat resistant strip (from Lion catalogue) for placement under the hand held heat seal bar (while sealing) and with one and a half rolls of 400mm wide centre folded heatseal film. (i.e. opens out to 800mm wide)

The heat seal element is 500mm long and can be used to seal longer lengths ( bite by bite) and the rollers will accommodate rolls in excess of 800mm wide.

I'm looking for £35 for the whole lot, which is significantly less than the value of the shrink film. The buyer will need to be able to collect this and I am happy to demonstrate the machine is working and how to use it, if required.

As I get to grips with re-organising my workshop, I am expecting that there may be a few other items for sale when it becomes clear what else I will no longer have space for.

Hi Ricky,

It's very heavy (probably about 30 kilos) and I think it would need to be packed between two wooden trays made from 2" x 1" timber and 6mm MDF for protection. The hot air gun and the rolls of film would need to be separately packed. I could do make the wooden trays for you and scew a couple of pieces of 6mm MDF into the sides of these trays to provide a reasonable level of protection if this helps, but I'm not equiped for packing things properly, so you would need a courier who will be willing to do the rest of the packaging. I'm gessing that the cost for me to make the trays and screw them together with the MDF pieces would be about £25 to £30.

I don't know if this is still worth it for you, but If you can arrange a courier who will collect it and finish off the packing. Then this could be made to work.
