Customer came in today with four pictures I framed almost three years to the day and said the moulding had worm holes on it.
It was a paper wrap from a decent wholesaler and I wonder where I stand. I have agreed to reframe them in a polcore moulding for a nominal fee. Not bad customers and were worrried about their furniture..

Any comments on this?

if it was three years ago who is to say it didn't come from her house? I have seen moulding with wood worm in it not in my workshop but another framers, but in 15 yrs of framing that is the only incidence I have come across.

You may find the following link useful info. Basically, the beetle can survive in the wood until it fully dries (3 to 5 years). Also, it is unlikely to spread as furniture etc inside the house is dry wood and not moist.
