Steve N asked to see some pictures of my workshop so here they are.
Building benches on uneven floors and squeezing equipment into old calving pens was a real challenge!
Anybody else willing to share photos of their workshop?

Great space, love the different departments, look warm and cosy as well, you must be very proud of it. Looks like you do have restrictions on the max size you can do and long lengths of moulding must be a problem. I hope there was not to much water damage, re the other photo you posted in the other thread.

Thanks for asking Steve about the flood damage, thankfully there wasn't any. It just came in along the floor. The carpeted area where I keep customer’s work and finished jobs is raised about 9 inches off the ground so I feel safe up there!

I would recommend them to anyone at risk of flooding.

Not much chance of that at the moment though!, the Indian Summer is even up here!

I wonder if someone in Brussels or somewhere is wondering if it is PC to say 'Indian Summer' and what would an alternative be?

Anyway, this weather is keeping the customers away in droves here, personally I'll be glad when it's nice and grey and damp like it should be.

I like the sound of 'a Tiger in Autumn' as they say in China. Guess it's okay for me to say Indian Summer as my Great Grandmother was Indian, so that makes me an eighth Indian!
And I know nothing about being PC as I'm a Mac!!

A photo of my main work room, nice and tidy at the end of the week.

After what seems like an eternity waiting for builders to put doorways in and electricians to re-wire for 3 phase,I'm finally getting closer to finishing my new workshop.This 700sq ft room, which is literally next door to our existing premises, will mainly be used for cutting and joining frames as well as storing mouldings and other consumables.

The saw is a Cassese 969 with a Smart Stop,the pinner is a Cassese 299mxl2 ,the extractor is a Hippo Dust Box and a 200litre (noisy) Clarke compressor.
All this equipment was bought 2nd hand -Some of it is less than a year old and all of it is less than 3 years old. Together it cost much less than half than you would expect to pay for it new.

Mark Griffiths was here today to set up and install the saw and to train both me and my staff on using the saw and the underpinner, I have to say I was impressed - As well as being a lovely chap,he's very knowlegable with Cassese products and also the UK Valaini engineer,I think I'm right in saying that he's factory trained by both these companies.

Still plenty of snagging jobs to do though- We had to take the door out to make a hole wide enough for the saw to come through and the bench I've had fabricated for the underpinner doesn't arrive till the weekend .

The racking,the ramp and the yet to arrive underpinner bench are all made out of tube that had previously been racking at Manuscript.I bought this steel at auction otherwise it would have cost a bomb!

Will that is far to clean a workshop especially a cutting room.

Nice looking saw very jealous.

I,m very impressed with the saw and the underpinner I've always had Minigraf before but have to say the Cassese is a different class.
