Source for large cut-to-size 2mm thick acrylic/styrene

Post by Tim »

Hi

I'm in urgent need of some large (A0+) size 2mm thick acrylic glazing. Can anyone here do this, or recommend a company who may be able to help? As stated. it's urgent (aren't they all?)

Need 11 sheets 981 x 1328 and 4 sheets 981 x 981

Thanks in advance

Tim

Tim,

Glazing acrylic sheet for those sizes is not an appropriate use of 2mm. It should be thicker.

have you tried http://www.glassandmirror.co.uk/

They do stuff cut to size and seem to have just about everything. And they deliver in their own van. 8)

Hi Tim,

probably not a lot of help as a long way away but i recently had a piece cut to size at 2200mm x 600mm x 3mm from Alluminium and Wood Frame Supplies in London E18 1BY although not cheap at £140.

Alternatively Glass & Mirror (North) in Oldham 0845 456 9972.

Regards,

Graham

I think I might go into business supplying this stuff. Thanks all for your help - have now sourced some 3mm acrylic cut to size at a decent price!

Cheers

Try giving solid glass in goole a ring you probably won't pay more than £10 a sheet for styrene. They also supply acrlylic in varying thicknesses your other option is arqadia's artguard but I don't know if the sheets would accomodate the size you want. It is easy enough to cut with a knife and straight edge or a wall mounted cutter.
