This is an old photo circa '98/99. Huge 12ft x 8ft canvas for the Martini canteen. One of two (the other had Bacardi on it) painted in Scotland and sent to Southampton unstretched.
They had a problem finding anybody willing to re-stretch it, until they rang me. it was too big for my workshop in those days so I made some stretchers out of 3 x 2 and stretched it on-site in the canteen. Didn't take very long and was a doddle with the two of us. We had to hang them as well, floor to ceiling, and when finished they put chairs and tables against them! I dread to think how long they lasted!

Unfortunately no. It would have been nice to have received a crate or two as a tip! I think the job came to just over £400.00.
